Katy’s been slacking again…. so I am going to play catch up and review 3 bags in 1 post! 😁
Let’s start with the oldest first: February 2017.
I really don’t like the bag itself, but hey, you can’t win them all. It is sort of like a blue jean materials with this awful orange plastic trim and zipper. LOL! Here are the products I received:
– Elizabeth Mott Whatup Beaches Matte Bronzer
– True Botanicals Resurfacing Moisture Mask
– IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Anti-aging Concealer in Neutral Medium
– Luxie Beauty Rose Gold Blush Brush 514
– Seraphine Botanicals Luminude in Primrose
And my thoughts on each product:
Elizabeth Mott Whatup Beaches Matte Bronzer (sample size): The sample was so ridiuclously small for a bronzer that I didn’t even try it to be honest. I already have a full sized Hoola Bronzer that is my favorite, so sadly, this one just went straight in the trash. 😳
True Botanicals Resurfacing Moisture Mask (sample size): I really enjoy masks, and I think this one is pretty nice, HOWEVER the smell is so overwhelmingly floral that I can hardly use it. You apply, leave on for 5 minutes, and then wipe off with a wet cloth, but even those 5 minutes are horrible because of the smell. I do think it left my skin nice and soft, but nothing to write home about that is worth the smell. I used a few times and then threw away.
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Anti-aging Concealer in Neutral Medium (sample size): I already had gotten the regular Bye Bye Under Eye in one of my first bags and loved it, so I was excited to get the illuminating version. It has very high coverage, and can feel a little tacky, but it CONCEALS and BRIGHTENS and I love it! Because high coverage concealer is not my daily go-to, I will be able to use this bad boy for a while.
Luxie Beauty Rose Gold Blush Brush 514 (full size): This brush is SO soft. Probably too soft. The bristles are really long and because it is so flexible it is really hard to apply blush. I already have enough blush brushes anyway, so this went into a drawer in my stash.
Seraphine Botanicals Luminude in Primrose (full size): This is a liquid highlighting product that I really enjoy. It is very gold and very shimmery, but looks really good on my skin tone. I am especially excited to use it in summer when I am more tan and hopefully will complement my skin even more. I don’t reach for liquid highlighters on a daily, so this has only been used a few times, but it is good. I love the color and def use it on occasion.
Overall thoughts: certainly not my favorite bag, but not awful either.
Now onto March 2017….
This is probably my favorite bag design EVER! The color and size of it is amazing, and the folding flap idea is so cute. Everything inside the bag had all these spring hues going on and it just made me soooo happy.
– OFRA Cosmetics Peach Blush
– Doucce Freematic Eyeshadow in Marisa
– Marula Pure Beauty Facial Oil
– City Color Cosmetics Photo Chic Dark Spot Corrector
– Elizabeth Mott Blending Brush
OFRA Cosmetics Peach Blush (full size): While I LOVE OFRA products and the color of this blush makes me happy, it is soooooo glittery and I don’t really like that in a blush. I have used it as a blush topper, but only on a few occasions. It is a huge pan, so I will literally never run out of this stuff.
Doucce Freematic Eyeshadow in Marisa (sample size, I think): The color, the shimmer, the cute little packaging… I just love this eyeshadow! I have reached for this like every other day since getting it in my bag. It even came with a magnetic back so I put it right in my z palette which makes me a happy girl. It looks GREAT on my skin tone, and I am in love with pink and rose shades lately. Total win.
Marula Pure Beauty Facial Oil (sample size): Face oils are not necessarily my jam, but I really enjoyed this product. It smells like an essential oil and feels relatively light weight. Left my skin feeling moisturized and not too oily. I feel like I could use this sample a hundred times without running out. Not bad!
City Color Cosmetics Photo Chic Dark Spot Corrector (full size): I have been using this under my eyes lately to cover dark circles and it works like a charm. Kinda think and tacky, but it has pretty good coverage, doesn’t crease, and really doesn’t budge. I don’t use it daily, but this is definitely a full size product, so will last forever. Good stuff!!!
Elizabeth Mott Blending Brush (full size): I LOVE BLENDING BRUSHES!!! I am pretty new to the eyeshadow scene so I don’t have very many eyeshadow brushes, and this was pretty much perfect. It is big and nice and fluffy, and works great. I find myself reaching for this pretty much every day.
This bag was SO MUCH BETTER than February and totally made up for it. I like/love everything!
Lastly, April 2017….
I thought the bag itself is adorable. I actually ended up putting it in my purse to use as an organizer because it is so fun to carry around. I think it was built really well and I love the feel of the faux-leather material.
– Glamour Dolls x Lisa Frank Angle Blush Brush
– Hanalei Aloe Soothing Gel
– Dream by PS Consmeceutical Infused Nail Lacquer in Southern Sand
– TONYMOLY Liptone LipCare Stick in Honey Moisture
– Elizabeth Mott Show Me Your Glow Shimmer Shadow & Highlighter
As for the products:
Glamour Dolls x Lisa Frank Angle Blush Brush (full size): I really really really wanted to love this brush. I picked this product for my bag this month and was super excited. I got it and it really is adorable but it is an awful brush. LOL! The fibers are all crinkled and not very soft and just doesn’t apply very well. It is more of a collection item rather than one to use. Little bummed, but what can you really expect from Lisa Frank stuff?!?
Hanalei Aloe Soothing Gel (sample size): I have to admit….I haven’t really used this yet! I LOVED the first Hanalei product I got (their lip treatment) and still use it almost every day. Their stuff isn’t cheap, so I figured I would save this until my next sunburn. Might be waiting a while since I use a moisturizer with sunscreen everyday, but that’s ok.
Dream by PS Consmeceutical Infused Nail Lacquer in Southern Sand (full size): If you know me, you know I am a freak for nail polish. I enjoy getting them in my bag, but this color is almost identical to the last color I got in my Ipsy bag, and honestly, not very pretty to me. I may use it, maybe not. Bummer.
TONYMOLY Liptone LipCare Stick in Honey Moisture (full size?): I think this is a full size balm, and I really wanted to like it. It smells exactly like fresh honey and feels very moisturizing, but I just don’t love natural honey smell/taste so I probably won’t use again. I gave it to my boyfriend (who is a honey freak) so he has something when he needs it.
Elizabeth Mott Show Me Your Glow Shimmer Shadow & Highlighter (tiniest sample size ever): Another sample so entirely small you can barely use it… BUT, this product absolutely stole the show. I am able to get it on my highlighter brush, so it works. It is the most perfect pearly cream color that looks absolutely AMAZING on my skin. I will most definitely re-purchase the full size of this product. I LOVE it as an inner corner highlight as well. Just all around an extremely flattering shade.
So that’s all I got for you! May’s bag should be coming soon and I can’t wait. Ipsy delivery day is probably my favorite day each month. Just need to figure out what to do with all of these bags now…. 🤔
Hope you guys enjoyed reading, have a great day!
