Coconut Macchiato Shake


Going out for a coffee run is expensive and typically packed with sugar and calories galore! I used to LOVE the coconut macchiato from Starbucks, but then I realized one 16 oz. drink had 25 grams of sugar, 200 calories, and 9 grams of fat. NO THANKS! And it was JUST a drink – no food or nutrients!

This morning I decided to make my own take on the drink, but instead it was my breakfast and was packed with all of my daily vitamins and minerals, pre/probiotics, fiber and digestive enzymes to help the digestion, protein to keep me full until lunch, antioxidants, adaptogen herbs to fight stress, etc. Only 170 calories (+ 50 calories from the 1/2 banana I added), 8 grams of sugar and 1 gram of fat – the biggest difference is these grams are from WHOLE foods, not just from sugars and sweeteners. Here is the recipe:

  • 1 packet vegan cafe latte shakeology

  • 1/2 frozen banana

  • 8 oz water

  • 1 tsp coconut extract

  • 1 tsp caramel extract

  • 1 tsp unsweetened shredded coconut

  • handful of ice

  • blend and enjoy!

Vegan cafe latte has become a staple in my life and I definitely recommend it for those of us who love coffee and want to be healthier!
