Day 9, Week 2, Phase 1

Booty day is baaaack!!!Β πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘Β So far, the booty workouts are my favorite. They feel so targeted and toning and only use the resistance bands (and most of the workout is done on the mat, score!). I am excited to see how it feels in a different rep pattern today. Last week all of our reps were 2 sets of 15 (2×15), and this week they change to 3×10 and use heavier weights/resistance.

After my last post, I got up off the couch and got Roll & Release done and it was fabulously awful. I forgot how painful foam rolling can be, but I am sure it helped in the long run. I will definitely be incorporating that routine in at least twice per week, or as needed. Then I took this photo as a “progress” photo:

All in all, feeling pretty decent. Yesterday I noticed that for the most part of the first 8 days I have been feeling pretty tired, foggy, headaches, kind of hungry, dizzy, etc. so my thought is that if I feel this way at the end of the week, I will move up to bracket C in the eating plan. Plan C means more calories, which hopefully will make me feel better. However, I decided to have some coffee today (even after 8 hours of sleep last night, just felt a little sleepy as I was getting ready) and am actually feeling much less of those symptoms now. Maybe I just needed a little extra caffeine? I will re-evaluate at the end of the week.

Once I was done with my foam rolling on Sunday, I spent a little romantic time with Chris, which is always much needed. Then I finished up my grocery list and headed to the store! I made two stops, Alid’s, where I got all of my produce (mostly organic, yay!) and a few other items, and then Food Lion, where I picked up the rest..which was mostly frozen stuff for Chris per his request, and our meat for the week. I don’t know why, but I prefer the chicken and ground beef at Food Lion over Aldi’s.

I knew that meal prepping would be key to my continued success this week, so I went live in my VIP Facebook group for my customers and prepped EVERYTHING that I could for the week. Prep included:

–Sliced and frozen bananas for my Shakeology

–Chicken, brown rice, brussells sprouts, and carrot portioned bowls for lunch. I even made enough for Chris to have this week as well for weekday lunches.

–Guacamole

–Roasted asparagus topped with feta and portioned

–Berries washed and portioned for post-workout recovery snacks

–Steel cut oats cooked

My fridge was INSANE when I was done…

The rest of the day was pretty easy-going and totally needed. I had plans to take an epsom salt bath, but just never got around to it. I probably should have though because I was feeling pretty sore all in all.

Monday came around and surprisingly, most of the soreness was gone, so that was excellent! It was so easy to grab my snacks for the day and make my Shakeology in the morning so I was totally prepared for the day. Totally in love with this lunch bag my grandma got me for Christmas.

Like I mentioned earlier, I felt tired, dizzy, and had a headache so I ended up having about 4 or 5 Icebreakers Sour Mints (I think more or less as a placebo to make my blood sugar “come up”) and a cup of green tea, and felt better by the time I went home for my workout. Otherwise, eating was a solid 100%. I got home from work, chugged my energize, talked live in my VIP facebook group again and pressed play on day 8, Total Body Core. Wow. For whatever reason, that workout kicked my ass. The 3×10 rep pattern just made this workout feel so long, and Autumn moved really fast so I had to pause more times than I wanted to. BUT, in the end, I got it done and that is what matters.

I went to bed pretty early last night and got another 7.5-8 hours of sleep. It is hard going to bed and feeling like I am “giving up” that time spent with Chris, but I know depriving myself of enough sleep does not serve my goals, and I remembered that just 54 days from today I will be in a bikini in Costa Rica and I have major bikini goals!!!!!

I woke up feeling empowered by all of my positive choices…….and then we had to go to McD’s for breakfast for the guys at work (as we do EVERY SINGLE Tuesday). Here is what I shared on my Facebook this morning:

Fail to prepare = prepare to fail!

Every Tuesday morning we have to pick up McD’s breakfast for all the guys at work….and every Tuesday morning I am so tempted by those delicious smells.
.
It would be so easy to just get a breakfast sandwich and go on with my day. But here’s the thing…it takes work and dedication to say NO to the bad food filled with chemicals and calories and instead say YES to seeing this challenge through – to seeing ME through.Β
.
In 71 more days I want to be able to say, “I FREAKING DID IT,” rather than question what I could have done if I had just said no to those Tuesday breakfasts!!!!
.
So here I am, coffee + superfood shake in hand, prepared and ready to take on the day!

Happy Tuesday and Happy Day 9 to me + my fellow Obsessors!!!!
